Course Content
The aim of this course is to provide you with the knowledge and practical skills that you will require, to administer medication safely and to support any person, in your care, to take their medication safely.
Course Agenda
Understand the principles of safe medication management.
Recognize legal responsibilities and documentation requirements.
Identify different medication types and their routes of administration.
Apply the “Five Rights” — right patient, drug, dose, route, time.
Maintain hygiene and infection control during administration.
Handle controlled drugs in line with policy.
Record errors or omissions promptly and accurately.
Understand side effects, contraindications, and adverse reactions.
Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
Ensure confidentiality, accountability, and safe storage at all times.
