Sports First Aid Theory
This course is designed to equip participants with the essential knowledge, skills, and competence to provide effective and appropriate sports first aid to injured individuals. Participants will learn how to assess and manage common sports-related injuries, including sprains, fractures, and head injuries, as well as how to respond to emergencies such as cardiac events or severe bleeding. Emphasis is placed on practical, hands-on training to ensure confidence and readiness in real-life situations. By the end of the course, attendees will be prepared to deliver timely and effective first aid, promoting safety and well-being in sports environments.

Course Agenda

Understand the principles of first aid in sports environments. Recognize and treat sprains, fractures, and dislocations. Manage bleeding, head injuries, and concussion safely. Handle heat exhaustion, dehydration, and overexertion. Apply CPR and AED use in sports-related emergencies. Manage spinal injuries and safe movement of athletes. Understand infection prevention during treatment. Prepare and maintain first aid kits for sports venues. Record incidents and communicate with coaches or guardians. Encourage prevention through conditioning, warm-ups, and hydration.
