The goal of this training is to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to Positively Handle behaviours of concern in Schools.

Course Agenda

Understand the legal and ethical framework for physical intervention. Recognize the triggers and early signs of challenging behavior. Apply de-escalation and communication techniques to prevent conflict. Learn the hierarchy of intervention — from verbal strategies to last-resort physical restraint. Maintain safety for both staff and students during incidents. Record and report all incidents transparently. Reflect on the emotional impact and post-incident support. Encourage consistent behavior policies across school staff. Promote a culture of respect and inclusion. Use restraint only when necessary, proportionate, and lawful.
