Patient/People Moving and Handling
This course is designed for healthcare workers who need to be trained to safely move and handle patients under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work 2005 and Manual Handling Regulations 1993 and 2007.  Note: Before completing this module, you must have completed the Manual Handling module and Online Assessment.

Course Agenda

Recognize the anatomy and risk of musculoskeletal injuries. Apply ergonomic principles to reduce strain and risk. Use correct manual handling techniques for patients. Operate hoists, slide sheets, and transfer aids safely. Conduct risk assessments before any patient movement. Communicate effectively with patients to ensure comfort and dignity. Report hazards and equipment faults immediately. Work as a team to ensure coordinated movement. Promote patient independence while maintaining safety.
